Designed by Cox Architecture in collaboration with Thomson Rossi, Whyalla Secondary College thoughtfully integrates the rich history and traditions of the former local high schools while establishing a distinct identity that fosters belonging and community connection.

The new $100 million, state-of-the-art campus replaces the three former secondary schools - Edward John Eyre High School, Whyalla High School, and Stuart High School - bringing them together into one unified, future focused institution. Purpose built to accommodate up to 1,500 students from Years 7 to 12, the school includes 48 inclusive places for students with disability, ensuring accessibility and support for all learners.

Spanning three storeys, the college has been designed to reflect the needs of modern education, with a strong emphasis on STEM and future-ready skills that lead to real-world opportunities. Flexible, contemporary indoor learning spaces are complemented by innovative, multi-level outdoor areas, creating a vibrant and engaging environment that supports curiosity, collaboration, and growth.

The interior palette enhances this progressive vision with high performance finishes chosen for both durability and design appeal. Flooring throughout includes Quantum vinyl sheet in Oxford Grey and Collins Grey, creating a cohesive, professional aesthetic across shared and learning spaces. Accolade Safe in Camden Grey has been used where safety and slip-resistance are paramount, while Wallflex in Cool White provides a clean, low maintenance finish.
