Kaweka Hospital in Hastings, New Zealand, is a state-of-the-art private healthcare facility designed to deliver world-class medical care in a modern, patient-focused environment. Following the success of Stage 1, Stage 2 of the development continued to prioritise durable, safe, and aesthetically pleasing finishes, with Armstrong Flooring products once again specified to support the hospital’s high-performance needs.
A total of 2,645m² of flooring was installed throughout Stage 2, covering patient rooms and corridors. The specification included Accolade Plus in Ceduna (1080m²), Sand Grey (880m²), Cappuccino (180m²) and Ironbark (55m²), along with Accolade Foothold in Ceduna (350m²), Sand Grey (90m²) and Cappuccino (10m²).
The selection of Accolade Plus and Accolade Foothold provided a seamless balance of safety, hygiene, and design flexibility. With slip resistance and easy maintenance as critical requirements for a healthcare setting, these products delivered both functionality and a warm, contemporary aesthetic.
The use of neutral and natural-inspired tones such as Ceduna, Sand Grey, and Cappuccino helped create a calm and restorative atmosphere for patients, while Ironbark provided contrast in selected areas.
